Shipping
What is RORO?
It means "Roll On Roll Off" loading system. It can offer a cost advantage over container shipments. RO-RO vessels are designed solely to carry cars & other vehicles and do not carry any general cargo or bulk commodities. All vehicles are secured in their respective bays and are isolated from the elements during the sea passage. Ro-Ro shipment is not available for every destination.
How does RORO work and Advantages?
Usually cheapest method of shipping cars is by modern Ro-Ro vessels. These are purpose built vessels designed purely for the shipment of cars securely lashed under the deck. Vehicles are driven inside the ship and secured onto the vessels car deck. Vessels also carry non motorized vehicles like boats on trailers or non roadworthy vehicles like heavy plant and machinery on steel tracks (From dump trucks to steamrollers) On Ro-Ro vessels all cargo is shipped under deck secured in the hold, wind and water tight. No packing is required. Simple, Effective, Economical and fast.

What is container shipping?
Shipment by container covers almost all ocean ports in the world. The vehicles must be loaded and professionally fastened in the containers to avoid damages in case of rough weather conditions during the transport on the vessel. Usually the freight cost is more expensive than
Ro-Ro shipment. Great care must be taken in securing your vehicle into the container. Vehicles or bikes must be secured to the flooring rings of the container by ratchet straps and the wheels must be locked into position by wooden chocks. This booked container will be yours and, unlike RORO shipping, you can load the vehicle up with personal effects and pack spare tyre under the vehicle.
What are the container sizes?
- 20ft container
- 40ft container
- 40ft HQ container
To ship vehicles, bikes, boat, spare parts, machineries etc you can use 20ft steel shipping container or 40ft size container. If the vehicle is much bigger you can use 40ft HQ container
